Don’t Ever You Stop Now follows mathematician-folk musician Martin Parker and me through a period of fieldwork in 2021. Embarking with one question, we returned with something entirely different. We wanted to find traces of weather in folk songs and a lost, land-based subjectivity. Instead, we bumped into quarrels about the ownership of folk songs, collecting and standardisation. Set against the eroding landscape of East Anglia, our encounters with an amateur meteorologist, ageing folk musicians and two scientists tell a story of how knowledge is produced.
